-INDEPENDENCE WAR- The armed movement of 1810 that led to the Mexican independence brought new changes to the currency, since most of the Spanish capitals were guarded because of the incoming war. That forced the insurgent people to produce their own fiduciary coins so they could fund the warfare. The General Morelos' coin and the one from the Zitacuaro American Board are amongst the most notable examples from such epoch. It was also the very first appearance of a royal eagle on a Mexican seal.
